8 docks and 3 hubs, side by side on what decides the fit: the port they plug into, how many displays they run and on which computers, and how much power reaches your laptop. Every value is the maker's own, with its conditions, checked Oct 12, 2026.
On Windows, start with your laptop's port
“Works with Windows” says little: two Windows laptops can get very different results from the same dock. Find the port in your laptop maker's spec sheet (a lightning-bolt symbol by the port is a hint, not proof), then pick the matching list.
Thunderbolt 5
Every dock here connects. Thunderbolt 5 docks reach the display and speed limits their makers list for Thunderbolt 5 computers.
Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 docks run as listed. Thunderbolt 5 docks connect with lower limits where their makers state them, and some don't support older Thunderbolt 3 at all.
